Dog Training School
There are many ways to train your dog, you can do it
yourself with the help of videos and books, or you can take him to a dog
training school. Dog training schools are great for those who just don’t have
the time to do the training themselves. Dog training is a commitment of your
time which has to be dedicated over the long haul.
There may also be those who have tried to train their dog at
home, but they are just a bit more difficult than expected, and therefore, the
help of a dog training school would really come in handy.
Have you ever been around dogs that are just plain
obnoxious? Or do you have a dog that is difficult no matter what you do, and
you have just accepted the fact that he is like that, and there is nothing you
can do about it. Do you take your dog out for walk at nights, because if you
go during the day, your dog is out of control because of the other dogs
around? Again, this is where dog training school will benefit you and your
dog.
Neither you nor your dog is happy, so what do you have to
lose if you do go with a school? While it is best to have your dog trained
while he is young, it is never too late. You may have been putting it off for
a while, and may think your dog is too old. Never too old for dog training
school, so don’t let that stop you.
If you do have an unruly dog, there are chances that you can
eventually be facing a lawsuit. There are people who are suing others for dogs
barking too much, maybe your dog attempted to bite someone, or worse yet, did
bite someone. If your dog gets loose in the neighborhood, you will have the
police on your door step. And if your dog is loose, and you have no control
over him, this can cause some big problems.
It is worth putting your dog into a dog training school,
providing him the obedience training that will make him a much better member of
society as well as your family.
Dog Training Tip #1
Be Consistent. Use the same commands over and over as you are training, correcting, and praising your dog. Consistency will help your dog to understand and obey rather than be confused and disobedient. All family members should use the same commands when training your dog. Consistency breeds familiarity and desired behavior. |
Dog Training Tip #2
Praise Good Behavior. Make sure to praise your dog quickly and often when she has completed a command or responded in a positive manner. As you praise, look directly in your dog's eyes so that she will associate good behavior with the positive reinforcement she is receiving (voice and/or touch). |
Dog Training Tip #3
Keep Training Sessions Short. Approximately 15 minutes per session is optimal for learning a simple command and maintaining your dog's concentration. Make sure to end your training sessions on a positive note. One idea is to play with your dog immediately following a session. This will help your dog to associate time spent with you as fun and to look forward to another training session. |
