Dog Training Books
What a cute puppy! He will be so much fun to have around
the house, he will play fetch, go for walks, snuggle when we want him to
snuggle, this puppy will be the perfect companion and house guest.
Yes, you were probably thinking that when you decided to get
your dog. You thought of all the wonderful things, the good times, the joys of
having a dog. But, you didn’t think about the accidents on the carpet, the
chewed up newspaper all over the floor, the garbage can contents strung down
the hall, no, you weren’t thinking of these things. Never fear, dog training
books are here!
I understand exactly how you feel, and it is not a great
feeling. You have this new little demon running around who use to be such an
adorable looking puppy. With the help of dog training books, you will be able
to get that dog back that you thought you were getting.
One of the better dog training books is ‘Sit,Stay,Fetch’,
which has some pretty good methods that are pretty easy to learn in a very
short time span. You will soon be training your new dog like a professional
dog trainer. No longer will you have the newspapers ripped up and strung over
the floor, and no more accidents on the carpet. You may even want to start
inviting your friends over again, since it will be safe now.
In these dog training books you will see great pictures
showing you the hand signals, where you need to be in regards to your dog when
training, pictures of what your dog should be doing, along with step by step
instructions. And it’s great to have these books as back up resources when you
have a question or a particular problem.
Your dog may be disobedient, aggressive, or barks too
much. No matter the reason for training, there are dog training books for
every topic and will answer every question you can think of. There are many
dog trainers who have put these together and have seen pretty much every
situation you will ever come across.
So, don’t go spend a lot of money on a dog trainer, when
you can become one yourself. Just look into the different dog training books,
see which methods or techniques fit your personality, and go for it.
Dog Training Tip #1
Be Consistent. Use the same commands over and over as you are training, correcting, and praising your dog. Consistency will help your dog to understand and obey rather than be confused and disobedient. All family members should use the same commands when training your dog. Consistency breeds familiarity and desired behavior. |
Dog Training Tip #2
Praise Good Behavior. Make sure to praise your dog quickly and often when she has completed a command or responded in a positive manner. As you praise, look directly in your dog's eyes so that she will associate good behavior with the positive reinforcement she is receiving (voice and/or touch). |
Dog Training Tip #3
Keep Training Sessions Short. Approximately 15 minutes per session is optimal for learning a simple command and maintaining your dog's concentration. Make sure to end your training sessions on a positive note. One idea is to play with your dog immediately following a session. This will help your dog to associate time spent with you as fun and to look forward to another training session. |
